The YMCA has a number of programs to get you fit, healthy, and strong, no matter what your age or fitness level. In addition, we offer a baby-sitting course and CPR training, to keep you, and your loved ones, safe.

SAFETY OF YOUTH

Must be 13 or older to use Fitness Centre.
Youth between 13 - 17 must have an orientation before they can use the fitness centre machines.


Babysitting Course

Children ages 11 and up can learn how to market their skills as a babysitter, as well as some first aid, and how to diaper a baby. An essintial course for any youth!

Around the World 5 - 12 yrs 11:00-12:00pm Crafts and activities with a multicultural theme. Also come and get involved in a mural project decorating our craft room!

Karate: Wado Kai Karate Clubs A course for beginner and advance participants focusing on Wado Kai Karate skills and philosophies.
Kendo: Japanese-style fencing. Participants wear armor and fight full-speed, full-contact using bamboo practice swords in a safe environment.
High Performance Judo:
Competitive Judo – Beginners welcome – Biomechanics of Judo.
Judo: A continuation of the Judo Basics with more emphasis of recreation versus competition.
Judo Kata:
Advanced Judo Classes.
Practical Self Defense: Taught by former police, army instructor & university security.

JUNIOR RACQUETBALL

Junior Lessons are available for players starting at 5 years of age. Each of the Groups is set up with the different levels of play and appropriate social interests in mind. All classes will have 4-6 players. Note: All prices include GST & must be paid at time of joining - All cheques should be made payable to: RiverRacquet. MINI-RACQUETS (Ages 5 - 8)
Introduction to the ABC's of athletics (running, jumping & throwing/hitting) as well as some basic RB & SQ hand-eye coordination skills. The emphasis is on fun.

BEGINNER JR RACQUETBALL (Ages 7 - 14)

Introduction to basic rules, and skills including forehand, backhand, serves & serve return. Players learn the skills needed to ref as well as appropriate court etiquette.

Focus on specifics of basic skills including forehand, backhand, serves & serve return. Introduction of additional serves, footwork drills and core exercises. All players at this level should be able to successfully play single bounce.

COMPETATIVE JR RACQUETBALL (Ages 12 - 18)
This program is designed for those juniors who show potential to be top '4' provincially in their age group. This is a complete program including all facets of training. There are 2 sessions per week of 1 hour 45 minutes each. Limited space available.

NATIONAL TEAM RACQUETBALL
TRAINING GROUP

This program is for the players that have been named or previously named to a National Junior, Development or Senior Team. The program is designed to have 3-4 sessions per week plus camps and additional 1 on 1 sessions. Access to programs provided by the Sask Sport Science.

Racquetball Challenge Nights

Raqcuetball Challenge Nights are designed to give players a weekly match with different players. As each player shows up they are paired off to play '1' game to 11 points with a variety of opponents. The Challenge Nights will run during the months of January, February, March, April & May. Each Challenge Night is run for 1.5 hours. Please check-in each night at the YMCA front desk.
