The YMCA youth leadership programs provide opportunities for youth to develop leadership skills, improve self awareness, interact with a variety of people and experience what the YMCA has to offer.

With something for everyone, the YMCA youth leadership program provides a variety of experiences to suit the needs of different age groups. Youth leadership programs are a great investment into learning and discovering youth from grades 5 through 12.

The YMCA Leadership Corps program provides an encouraging atmosphere for youth to develop leadership skills, improve self awareness, interact with a variety of peoples and experience what the YMCA has to offer.

  •   The YMCA history and values, Leadership styles, Public speaking and communications
  •   Diversity awareness, Drug & Alcohol abuse, Initiative tasks and team building activities
  •   Internation programs, Human rights, Bullying

Babysitting Course

Children ages 11 and up can learn how to market their skills as a babysitter, as well as some first aid, and how to diaper a baby. An essintial course for any youth!

Japanese-style fencing. Participants wear armor and fight full-speed, full-contact using bamboo practice swords in a safe environment.
Judo:
A continuation of the Judo Basics with more emphasis of recreation versus competition.

GYMNASTICS
Basic Gymnastics: These classes introduce children to the very basics of gymnastics.
Advanced Gymnastics: These courses are intended for children who want only a basic orientation to gymnastics; not a competitive course. **Basic Gymnastics should be taken before Advanced Gymnastics

Introduction to the ABC's of athletics (running, jumping & throwing/hitting) as well as some basic RB & SQ hand-eye coordination skills. The emphasis is on fun.

Racquetball Challenge Nights

Raqcuetball Challenge Nights are designed to give players a weekly match with different players. As each player shows up they are paired off to play '1' game to 11 points with a variety of opponents. The Challenge Nights will run during the months of September - May. Each Challenge Night is run for 1.5 hours. Please check-in each night at the YMCA front desk.
