Child Development Centres

The Saskatoon YMCA operates two child development centres and each Centre has 35 spaces. One Centre is located Downtown and the other Centre is located in Sutherland.

Dedicated to quality service, our focus is on the family and the importance of providing a stimulating, nurturing, and secure environment - special place where you are assured that your child will learn in a happy, loving atmosphere.

ELIGIBILITY
The Saskatoon YMCA Child Development Centres are licensed for children 18 months to six years. Please note that we have a limited number of spaces for children 18 months to 2 years.

Part time care is available at our Sutherland Centre on a limited basis. We do ask however, that when purchasing part time days, that these days remain the same each week.

Parents are requested to arrange an appointment for an initial visit at the Centre During the visit, parents will receive a tour of the Centre, and admission package and meet our Early Childhood Educators.

We welcome children with special needs on the basis of our ability to accommodate the child.

SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN
Kindergarten aged children are bussed to either Victoria School or Saskatoon French School. If you wish your child to attend a different school, while attending our Centre, transportation to and from the Centre/School must be arranged by you..

* Snacks are not provided for children to take to kindergarten.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The YMCA Child Development Centres are licensed by Early Learning & Child Care/Child Day Care Branch - a division of Saskatchewan Social Services. The Government of Saskatchewan provides subsidy to families according to their income.

Saskatchewan Social Services allows approximately 15% of the total period of subsidy approval for sick days and holidays. Children must attend the Centre for a minimum of 36 hours in the month to receive full subsidy.
